Balance is necessary, if you are to continue working for a long time
'Stop making excuses' is what you would usually hear if you ever mentioned having troubles at the workplace.
Another popular one was, 'you are just weak.' Personally, the funniest one we used to hear was, 'Just do better.'
Maybe the times were different. Maybe, it was necessary to disregard any reason because of which a task was unfinished. We don't live in the past, though. We live in the now. Now demands the importance of focusing on the well-being of the employees.
We have given the well-being of employees (work-life balance + working style/culture, mental and physical health) supreme importance, and we can see the results in terms of numbers.
But don't take our word for it. Try it yourself and feel the difference. Not only in productivity; but also the sense of attachment that employees feel.
In an ideal scenario, we can improve everything. However, we need to start somewhere, and the target should be your work-life balance. It is a two-way street. The organization scratches your back, and you scratch theirs.
Dear Organizations - Targets and deadlines are necessary. But what good is a mentally burned-out employee?
Dear Employees - Your family is as important as your work.
Engaging in a mutual dialogue is the only possible solution. Think of it as a relationship. Does it work when you force it?
